Millbrook Municipal Elections 2020: 11 Candidates Qualify for Mayor or Council Seats in Preparation for Aug. 25 Election

On August 25, 2020 voters will go to the polls in multiple area communities to vote on Mayor and Council position seats.

In Millbrook, City Clerk Anita Weaver provided the following information to the EAN about qualified candidates as of close of business July 21, the last day to file to be eligible to run for Municipal positions.

For Mayor of Millbrook:

Candidates will be Al Kelley and Tim Love.

Council Ward 1:

Candidates will be Joyce Loyd-Davis, Jacquelyn Long Thomas and Olivia Venable.

Council Ward 2:

Candidates will be Michael Gay and Leon L. Pressley.

Council Ward 3:

Incumbent Jimmy Harris will not have opposition.

Council Ward 4:

Candidates will be Bertha Brown and Justin Jones.

Council Ward 5:

Incumbent Hal Hodge will not have opposition.

With July 21 being the final day to qualify for Municipal elections, the Elmore/Autauga News will do similar stories for other areas in Elmore and Autauga counties in the coming days, showing all candidates in municipal elections for that area.

The Millbrook Men’s Club will host a candidate’s forum for all qualified Millbrook candidates on August 13, at 7 p.m. at Village Green. In case of bad weather, the event will be moved to the Millbrook Civic Center.
