David Cochran Takes the Helm as Head Boys Basketball Coach at Stanhope Elmore High School

The Stanhope Elmore High School Mustangs have a new head basketball coach. It was announced this morning that David Cochran will assume the role.

Cochran has been the varsity basketball assistant coach for the last four seasons as well as the head coach of the JV team. As a JV coach he accumulated an impressive 41-27 record. He has also served as one of the offensive coordinators of the Stanhope Elmore varsity football team.

Cochran is a native of Cussetta, Georgia where he excelled on the football field. He graduated from Faulkner University in 2016.

“I am honored and excited for this opportunity to lead the boys basketball program at Stanhope Elmore. My hope is that we can continue to build on the successful traditions of Stanhope Elmore basketball. My family and I want to continue to build strong relationships that will bring a great deal of pride to the players, coaching staff, administration and the community,” Cochran said.

Stanhope Elmore High School Head Football Coach and athletic director Brian Bradford said, “We are fortunate to have such a fine young coach to lead our basketball program. We look forward to a successful basketball future led by Coach Cochran.”
