On Saturday the family and friends of Brent Bradshaw, 43, gathered at The Elms of Coosada to remember his life of love, service and devotion to his family.
Waiting outside was a long line of large trucks that were included in the procession to Brookside Funeral Home, along with friends and family. As the service at The Elms concluded, officers with the Coosada Police Department were waiting to escort the procession.
When the big trucks fired up their engines, a Coosada police officer’s siren pierced the air. Slowly the procession rolled down Lindsey Road. Helping lead the way was Brent’s daughter driving his beloved Dually.
Even those who did not know the family well have told the Elmore/Autauga News they have been touched with emotion in the weeks since a tragic Jet Ski accident caused serious injury to Brent. Many followed public posts from his wife, Sandy, on Facebook with daily updates on his progress. A GoFundMe account was established, originally for the purpose of offering financial help and preparing the house for his release form the hospital. A Meal Train was also set up to help keep the family well-nourished.
Unfortunately, Bradshaw succumbed to his injuries June 1. Family and friends have taken solace in the belief he immediately was reunited with his son, Cooper Bradshaw, who died from a rare form of cancer in 2009. The community reached out to the family then as well, and helped raise funds for the Cooper Bradshaw Foundation. That Foundation helped raise funds for Christmas presents for patients at the Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.
Joyful, an unforgettable laugh, bear hugs, a love of the outdoors, devoted to his family….just some of the expressions shared with the family in this difficult time as they remember Brent. Others said he changed their lives for the better, and always stepped up to help anyone in need.

The Elmore/Autauga News sends our sincere condolences to the family and all who loved Brent. He leaves a lasting legacy of memories. Please continue to keep this family and his loved ones close at heart.
