It was a lengthy agenda Tuesday night for the regular Millbrook City Council meeting, but two items were particularly great news for Millbrook.

First, council members approved a site plan for the new Ellianos Coffee Company which will be locating in Millbrook in front of Walmart, next to Zaxby’s.

Second, the council approved site plans for Lockdown Climate Control, which will be located at Hwy. 14 and Oak Tree Road behind Troy Automotive on what is now Dismukes property.

“This is great news for our city, and we welcome both of these new companies to Millbrook,” Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley said.

Council President Michael Gay praised the efforts of Economic Development Director Ann Harper, who he said has worked hard to reach out to potential businesses in an effort for them to consider Millbrook as a location.

As for the Ellianos Coffee Company, the building in Millbrook will be almost identical to the facility in Prattville, according to Millbrook City Engineer Stuart Peters.

Peters explained that the coffee shop will have a dual drive-thru service only. The building will be approximately 800 square feet.

From the Ellianos Coffee Facebook Page:

The Ellianos story began when experienced entrepreneurs and coffee-lovers, Scott and Pam Stewart, returned to their home in Lake City, Florida from a visit to the Pacific Northwest. While there, the Stewarts took notice of the booming drive-thru specialty coffee shop industry. Having a love for coffee and always looking to seize the right opportunity, the Stewarts began planning for Lake City’s first double-sided drive-thru specialty coffee shop. Driven by a mission to serve the highest quality specialty coffee beverages in a way that would meet the demands of busy Americans, family-owned Ellianos Coffee Company was founded in 2002.

It’s our mission to captivate our customers by delivering unmatched quality, consistency and speed in every cup.

People took to the concept almost immediately and the Stewarts decided to franchise the Ellianos concept and brand. Being a franchisee himself in the pizza industry, Mr. Stewart knew what it would take to start a franchise, and determined that his company would value franchisees as though they were part of the family. Today, the Ellianos franchise is readily available in about 35 of the states.

With a lot of hard work, attention to detail, and help from others, Ellianos Coffee Company has become a dominate brand in the Southeast United States. Even in the early states, Ellianos achieved brand awareness in its market and thousands of loyal customers. We stand today by the same motto we did back then: to serve ITALIAN QUALITY AT AMERICA’S PACE®.

As for Lockdown Climate Control, Danny Webb, with Webb Builders, was at the meeting Tuesday to talk about the facility.

It is possible this is just the first phase of a multi-phase project. The first building will be about 20,000 square feet.

As for dates of possible construction to begin on either of these two new businesses, that could rely on the supply chain of materials, especially during the COVID-10 issue. We will have more on both of these businesses in later articles.
