The City of Prattville is pleased to announce that the Prattville Creative and Performing Arts Council has received a grant of $10,000 from the Alabama State Council on the Arts (ASCA), the state arts agency.

This grant will allow the City of Prattville and the Prattville Arts Council to once again sponsor a Celebration of the Arts in 2020. This Celebration will include the following activities:

The 2020 Honoree Dinner, honoring Jackson Bostwick; the Pops’ Annual Spring Concert; a special art exhibition of works featuring ink and opening reception at the Creative Arts Center and Gallery;

free Children’s Arts Workshops; Words and Music, a songwriter event; a Plein Air Painting Event;

in-school workshops; and the Wilson Pickett Music and Arts Festival.

Most of these events will occur in the month of March and early April. Most of these events

are free and open to the public, increasing the number of arts activities available to the citizens of

Prattville during that time. It is important to us that arts experiences are available to everyone.

ASCA grants are awarded through a multi-faceted competitive review process.

The grant signifies that the City of Prattville and the Prattville Creative and Performing Arts Council provides programs of artistic quality, serves the needs of the community and demonstrates high-level administrative standards, as well as enhancing education of students at all levels.

This grant awarded by the Alabama State Council on the Arts is made possible through funding from an annual appropriation from the Alabama State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts. This public support enables us to reach new audiences, foster community development, provide the highest quality programming, and demonstrate the importance of arts as a component for quality of life in Alabama.
