A fundraising fashion show is coming to the Davis Theatre in Montgomery Feb. 1, that will benefit people with heart issues and help them pay for treatment. “What we do is we provide financial assistance to those in the River Region that do not have insurance,” LaTonya Duncan, CEO for 1 Heart, said. “We take care of their prescription meds and copays to the Doctor for one year. We have a survivor walk to introduce to the public that any age can have heart disease from a child to the oldest person. We educate through fashion and we bring in speakers, survivors and professionals to speak, and designers from all over Alabama.”

Along with raising funds, Duncan said the organization is dedicated to educating the general public about heart health. She has experienced health issues in the past, as well as family members and this issue means a lot to her personally.
