Take a look at the picture above of the Elmore County Education Retirees Association (ECERA). There’s someone missing….YOU!
ECERA met on September 10th at the Jeanette Barrett Civic Room in Wetumpka, AL. Along with our regular agenda, Mr. Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Public Schools and Mr. Mark Harris of the Arts Foundation were our speakers.
Dennis gave the group an update of the state of the schools and Harris gave an informative review of the History of Elmore County. Afterwards, names were pulled for door prizes.
Each month, our members donate nonperishable items to the Elmore County Food Bank. This year ECERA is planning to give one scholarship to each of our public high schools. We donate items to the Adullum House during our Christmas meeting. Yearly dues are $10 for our local chapter. Our next meeting is October 8th at 10 a.m., flu shots will be given at this meeting beginning at 9 a.m. (must have insurance card). Also, during this meeting, CPR Training will be provided from the Wetumpka Fire Department. Please come join us!
