Juvenile Probation Officer John Findley celebrated his retirement, Dec. 29, 2025, at the Elmore County Juvenile Courthouse, marking 32 years and 8 months of dedicated service.

Throughout his career, Findley supervised juvenile offenders placed on probation, ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions, developing rehabilitation plans, and advocating for youth by connecting them with resources needed for long-term success.

โ€œI have admired how John is a quiet leader,โ€ said District Judge Ben Baxley. โ€œHe always gave subtle advice and has done so much for the youth of Elmore County, giving his time, love, and care.โ€ ย

In addition to his work with the courts, Findley also collaborated with Elmore Countyโ€™s school administrators and families, directly addressing student behavioral issues and supporting early intervention efforts.

โ€œWhen I talk to administrators, especially assistant principals who are out there dealing with really tough situations in schools, they always tell me how much they appreciate when these officers come to help get their kids in line,โ€ said Superintendent Richard Dennis. โ€œIt makes a difference when you have someone come in and help establish law and order.โ€

Findleyโ€™s colleagues also came forward to share their gratitude for his decades of service, noting the lasting impact he has had on countless youth and families across the county, as well as on those who worked alongside him.

โ€œWe are all going to miss him,โ€ said Tim Wheeler, retired Juvenile Probation Officer for Elmore County. โ€œThere ainโ€™t no doubt about it.โ€
