On August 2, Prattville senior running back Tristin Blackmon announced his commitment to play football collegiately at Bowling Green University.  The Falcons play in Bowling Green, Ohio, and compete in the Mid-American Conference. In 2024, Bowling Green traveled to play at Penn State and at Texas A&M. The Falcons made the 68 Ventures Bowl and finished with a 7-6 record.

“The running back coach at Bowling Green played for Coach Carr at Edgewood, and that staff offered me when they were at Tennessee State,” said Blackmon. “I had a great visit. I love the stadium and half the coaching staff is from a southern background so it feels like home 10 hours away. The indoor facilities and weight room are really nice.”

Blackmon rushed for 912 yards and 9 touchdowns as a junior. He was named player of the game in four of the Lions’ ten games.  Three games into his senior season, he already has 5 touchdowns. Last week against Oak Mountain, the Bowling Green commit rushed for 173 yards.

Blackmon visited Bowling Green on June 15. He plans on signing on signing day and moving to Ohio at the beginning of summer next year.

“Coach Carr was a good advisor throughout the summer and Coach Thomas our quarterback coach was my number one advisor on my decision. And Coach Crawford was the number one person recruiting me out of Bowling Green,” said Blackmon.

Blackmon hopes to finish out his senior season strong with the Lions. He has set goals of reaching 1200 yards and 15 touchdowns capped off with a state championship for the Lions.
