From Tatum Northington
Autaugaville School
Autaugaville School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is making a difference this fall by combining fun and philanthropy. On September 27, the FBLA hosted a back-to-school dance, which not only brought students together for a night of music and celebration but also served a greater cause—raising funds for the March of Dimes. The event was a success, helping increase awareness about the organization’s mission to improve the health of mothers and babies.
The FBLA is seeking donations from the community to further support the March of Dimes in its ongoing efforts. Contributions can make a significant impact in funding research and care that helps prevent birth defects and premature births.
In addition to their fundraising for the March of Dimes, the FBLA is launching its “Socktober” drive throughout October. The initiative aims to collect new socks for the Autaugaville Community Closet, supporting local families in need as the colder months approach. Donation boxes will be placed throughout the school, and the FBLA is encouraging both students and community members to donate socks to help make this drive a success.
FBLA President Alexzahiah Sanders said, “We’re excited to not only raise money for the March of Dimes but also to support our local community with the Socktober drive. It’s important to us to give back and make a difference in any way we can.”
Both projects highlight the FBLA’s commitment to community service and leadership development, and community involvement is key to making these efforts impactful. Donations for both causes are greatly appreciated and will help make a lasting difference.
