The Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for one of the newest businesses to plant roots in Millbrook, Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers is officially open in Millbrook.

The first location of Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers opened in 1979 in Birmingham, Alabama and has since grown to over 365 locations across 19 states. Their mission stated on their website is to provide experienced, trustworthy automotive care and outstanding service every single day.

“We really believe in our company, and what we believe in most is our people. We just want to give great service and build trust in the community as well as be a part of the community and have fun along the way,” Vice President of operations Sam Sainker said.

Express Oil Millbrook location originally opened in July of this year and is located at 1195 Highway 14, however the ribbon cutting ceremony signifies their dedication to the community.

In attendance was Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley, Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce chairman of the board Steve Mullis, economic development director for the City of Millbrook, Ann Harper, Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers director of operations Shane Ward, vice president of operations Sainker, store manager in Sylacauga Scott Roberson and many Chamber ambassadors and members of the community.

“I just want to welcome Express Oil to Millbrook, and we look forward to their success. I know there’s always bumps in the road, and if the city or myself can help you in any way please let me know. Welcome to Millbrook,” Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley said.

The Millbrook location’s store manager and training center director Ricky Shaw stated that he has been with and in the business since the age of 17 and fell in love with the work and the industry. Shaw stated that he started at the company when it was called Tire Engineers.

“This is a big company with a lot of coverage, but it has a small company feel. We take each customer as a valued commodity. What I like most is the small company feel within a big company,” Shaw said.

One thing that Shaw pointed out that sets them apart from other chain companies in the industry, is that Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers will go to the customer and pick up their car and bring it back after it has been serviced.

“As part of our service to the community, we want to partner with the community. We know how hard it is for people to leave work in the way that they are. A lot of people don’t want to cut their paycheck short. So, we offer that service that we go to the customer, and we pick up their car. We bring it back. We service it or we find out what it needs and then we call the customer and let them know what it’s going to cost,” Shaw said.

Shaw stated that he is excited for the growth of this location and the healthy competition within the company with other locations nearby.
