A New Lions Club in the Millbrook Area is Forming; Next Meeting is Jan. 16 at Habaneros

FROM LIONS CLUB OF MILLBROOK ORGANIZERS

There is a lot of interest in the New Lions Club coming to the area, and you are invited to join with us as a Charter Member of the new club!

All community service minded individuals are invited to attend the next information and organization meeting on Thursday, January 16 at 6:00 PM, at Habanero Restaurant, the second step in the formation of the club. The meeting will conclude by 7:00 PM.  If you would like to have dinner during the meeting, this will be “Dutch treat”.

Once we have a total of 20 “Committed and Paid” member applications, we will submit our formal Charter Application to Lions Clubs International, and the club can begin to function as the newest Lions Club in Alabama. Initial membership cost includes a one-time entrance fee of $35, and dues of $10 per month, paying through June. Thereafter, dues are billed on July 1 and January 1 annually.

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest Service club organization with more than 1.45 million members in more than 46,000 clubs in 210 Countries. The Lions’ motto is “We Serve”.

Lions are most widely known for their service work with the vision impaired, providing eye examinations, glasses, and surgeries to those who are in need, but may be unable to pay. Additional core areas of Service include Diabetes concerns, Children’s Cancer needs, feeding the Hungry, Environmental projects, and Disaster Relief.
