FROM TONY GARRETT, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

CENTRAL ALABAMA CRIMESTOPPERS
Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is proud to announce that we have completed recognizing 2020 Law Enforcement Officers of the Year ending on July 8, 2021. This recognition would have normally taken place in January at our annual luncheon in downtown Montgomery. Unfortunately, the luncheon was cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 restrictions for crowd size. We look forward to restarting our tradition on Wednesday, January 26, 2022.
On July 8, 2021 Central Alabama CrimeStoppers awarded Officer Devonte Allen with the title of LaFayette’s Police Department’s 2020 CrimeStopper of the Year.
Captain Christopher Trice wrote, “I would like to nominate Officer Devonte Allen for the 2020 Central Alabama CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year. Officer Allen has served as a Police Officer with the Lafayette Police Department for a total of 1 year and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division.
“Officer Allen is one of our hardest working Officers at the department. Since starting with LaFayette PD, Officer Allen has led the department in arrests for 2020, a total of 385 arrests to be exact. Those arrests consist of multiple drug arrests, DUIs, and misdemeanors. Officer Allen is heading to a bright future in Law Enforcement.
“Officer Allen’s performance in carrying out his duties is in keeping with the highest standards and expectations in Law Enforcement in the State of Alabama, The City of LaFayette, and the LaFayette Police Department.”
Officer Devonte Allen, on behalf of Central Alabama CrimeStoppers we are honored to award you with LaFayette Police Department’s 2020 CrimeStopper Officer of the Year Award.
Congratulations,
Tony A. Garrett
