From: Major Josh Barfoot

Wetumpka Police Department

The Wetumpka Police Department continues to investigate the shooting that occurred Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the REVV gas station located at 597 Coosa River Parkway. As a result of the ongoing investigation, the charges against Daveyon Stinson, who was initially arrested and charged with Assault First Degree, have been upgraded to Attempted Murder and Reckless Endangerment.

Further investigative efforts have revealed evidence connecting Stinson to a separate shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Wetumpka. During that incident, multiple rounds were fired into two separate occupied dwellings and one unoccupied vehicle.

Based on this information, investigators obtained additional warrants charging Stinson with the following offenses related to the April 12 incident:

  • Assault First Degree
  • Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling
  • Discharging a Firearm into an Unoccupied Vehicle
  • Six (6) Counts of Reckless Endangerment

At this time of both incidents, Stinson was out on bond for a prior shooting-related offense. As a result of these new charges, his bond has been revoked.

As of Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the victim from the April 19 shooting is listed in stable condition.
