The Alabama High School Volleyball Coaches Association has named Prattville Christian Academy Volleyball Coach Kaylon Cantrell as the Class 4A Coach of the Year. AHSVCA recognized Cantrell for amassing nearly 400 wins in her career. She has established one of the most consistently successful programs in the area, leading PCA to the Class 3A State Championship in 2022 and the Class 4A State Championship in 2024.
“It’s definitely an honor to be named 4A Coach of the Year,” said Coach Cantrell. “I have been very blessed to coach some amazing athletes who trust me and allow me to push them to be be their best, and this year was no different.”
Cantrell led the Panthers to the 2025 Class 4A title game, finishing as the 4A runner-up a year after winning the 4A title.
“Our season didn’t end exactly how we wanted. It was definitely heartbreaking to lose in the state championship game. But we squeezed as much volleyball as we possible could out of this season, and I couldn’t be more proud the ways our team battled and competed all season long! The memories from this season – with these girls – are so special, and I’m thankful to be their coach.”
This year’s Coach of the Year award adds to a long list of awards for the PCA Coach. Last season, Cantrell was named Autauga County Coach of the Year, as well as Class 4A Coach of the Year by al.com.
