It was night of Christian music, food, and fun for all. A special part of the night was also recognizing Prattville’s founder, Daniel Pratt. Today, until 3 p.m., the Prattaugan Museum has goodies to continue the birthday celebration. Drop by for a visit and a treat!

At the concert Tuesday, Don Edgeworth, President of the Autauga County Heritage Association, spoke to crowd about Founder’s Day.

“Our association is in the business of preservation and education but at the same time, we’re here to celebrate Daniel Pratt,” said Edgeworth.

He continued, “Daniel Pratt was the founder of Prattville in 1838. It was his faith in building churches and schools, and his interjecting spirit into the people of this city was very important. Our challenge is to continue to carry it forward as we keep moving forward to the character as we relate to people, and to our fellow citizens.”

Edgeworth then Introduced Cody Daughtry, Board Treasurer for the Autauga County Heritage Association, and his daughter, Aria Daughtry.

Aria Daughtry is the youngest Daniel Pratt descendant and will be laying the wreath at Founder’s Day next year at Daniel Pratt’s Cemetery at Vista Park.

From the Prattaugan Museum – “Rain can’t hurt our little parades! We have moved the goodies to a dry location! So come by the Museum and partake in the birthday of our City’s Founder! We have cake or Popsicles, balloons, and party favors! Gifts galore!”
