Dee Dee Calhoon officially sworn in as 19th Circuit Judge

In an incredible ceremony held at the Autauga County Courthouse on January 30th, Dee Dee Calhoon was officially sworn in as the 19th Circuit Judge for Place 4. The investiture ceremony was attended by a host of esteemed judicial officials, colleagues, friends, and family members who gathered to celebrate this significant milestone in Calhoon’s legal career.

Among those in attendance were fellow members of the judiciary, including Patrick Pinkston, 19th Circuit Judge; Jessica Sanders, Autauga County District Court Judge; Amanda Baxley, Presiding 19th Circuit Judge; Joy Booth, 19th Circuit Judge; Glenn Goggins, Elmore County District Judge; and Ben Baxley, Elmore County District Judge. The ceremony also welcomed Federal Magistrate Judges Jerusha Adams and Stephen Doyle.

19th Circuit District Attorney CJ Robinson was present to commemorate the occasion, along with Joe Mathis, a respected member of the community. 

Surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues, Judge Calhoon expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of the 19th Circuit. Her investiture marks the beginning of a new chapter, where she will preside over cases in Autauga, Elmore, and Chilton counties.

This new position will focus primarily on family court cases involving divorce, custody, and child support issues.

“Families are the most important aspect of our community. As 19th Circuit Judge, I vow to treat every family that comes before me with respect and will do my best to help them be successful – whatever that looks like for that particular family,” said Calhoon

The ceremony was a testament to Calhoon’s dedication and commitment to upholding justice within the community. With her official investiture complete, Judge Calhoon is set to bring her experience and integrity to the bench, further strengthening the judicial system of the 19th Circuit.
