Prattville Christian Academy

PRATTVILLE – Prattville Christian Academy will conduct a multi-agency active shooter training drill at Prattville Christian Academy from 7 a.m. to noon Monday, August 5. The school does not want to alarm anyone, but those in the vicinity of the school’s Old Farm Lane campus between 7 a.m. and noon Monday, Aug. 5, likely will hear sirens, helicopters and gunfire, in addition to seeing a heavy law-enforcement and first-responder presence, as part of a multi-agency active-shooter training. In order to avoid any confusion, the public is being notified ahead of time. The training will focus on emergency response to an active shooter incident on campus. Role players will be used to simulate real-world conditions to test emergency-response capabilities, which is where sirens, helicopters, blank rounds and/or other stimuli will come into play, adding a sense of realism to the training. There will be significant law enforcement present during the exercise. Please note that the exercise is closed to the general public, ensuring a clear understanding of the event’s boundaries. State and local agencies participating in the exercise include Prattville Police Department, Prattville Fire Department, Prattville Baptist Health, Haynes Ambulance, and Emergency
Management Agencies from Elmore and Autauga County.
Media Availability: Media presence will be limited during the exercise as it unfolds, because of
the sensitive nature of the activities. Members of the media should enter the campus on Old
Farm Lane N at 1:30 p.m. in the front of the school.
