Let freedom ring, celebrate the 4th in Elmore and Autauga Counties

Snap crackle and pop! Whether you’re just there for the BBQ and food or the fireworks, there’s so many different sparkling ways to celebrate freedom in the River Region.  

Prattville

The City of Prattville kicks of Independence Day festivities with the Patriotic Concert on June 30th at 3 p.m. at the Doster Memorial Community Center. Followed by other festivities on July 4th.

Prattville’s Independence Day Parade starts at 9 a.m on the 4th. After the parade, stop by and cheer on the participants of the Cardboard Boat Races beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Pratt Pool.

Teams will create their competition boats out of cardboard and duct tape on site. Prizes include Longest floating boat, the Titanic award for most dramatic sink, most creative and more. The Pratt Pool and Splash Pad also will be open for more family fun.

The Lions Club will be hosting a BBQ until 2:00 p.m. with festivities featuring crafts vendors, live music, inflatables, and more. The grand finale of the day will be the fireworks display launched at 9 p.m. from the Clock Tower off Highway 82 at Legends Circle.

There will be ample parking in the surrounding parking lots of the Prattville Town Center (Target), The Cotton Exchange (Hobby Lobby), and High Point (Belk/JC Penney) shopping areas. Find your space and enjoy the fireworks as they light up the night sky.

Pine Level

The town of Pine Level will celebrate their first ever Independence Day Celebration. The celebration will take place on Saturday, July 6th, at Spirit Walk Ministries, 1908 County Rd. 107, and the parade rolls at 10 a.m. Before and after the parade festivities include food trucks, vendors and other children’s and holiday activities, until 3 p.m. that afternoon.

“I’m excited for our community to come together. We’re trying to create community events and community involvement, and I just really want to encourage people in and surrounding Pine Level to come out and show support to those that are in the parade and the vendors. So come be a part of history,” Pine Level Mayor Zachary Bigley said.

A map of the parade route will be posted at a later date on the Pine Level Facebook page.

Wetumpka

Wetumpka has festivities starting this weekend with the Firework Extravaganza. This Saturday June 29that 6 p.m. on Main Street and Gold Star Park, the city will be hosting live music, vendors and a firework show to follow.

From face painting to inflatable bouncy houses, there’s something for every child to enjoy before the firework show at dusk.

With patriotism, music, and family friendly vendors and fun, be sure to bring lawn chairs and your favorite 4th of July attire.

Eclectic

The Amp on Lake Martin will be hosting fireworks over the lake from the lawn of the amphitheater after the concert with gates opening at 5:30.

Up first, The Bank Walkers, Lake Martin’s Favorite cover band will kick things off at 6:30 with some new tunes on their set list.

Following The Bank Walkers and the traditional Hula Hoop contest will be Taylor Hicks. Originally from Birmingham Hicks won American Idol in 2006 and has spent years headlining shows in Las Vegas and has performed with the likes of Widespread Panic, James Brown, Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, Drive-By Truckers, Robert Randolph, Snoop Dogg and Keb Mo. Taylor will take the stage from 8-9!

As Scott Blake sings the National Anthem at 9pm, the Southeasts Largest Fireworks display will be shot from behind the stage and for about 30 minutes we will color the sky with brilliance!

Then Hick’s Band will take the stage for another hour.

Billingsley

On Wednesday July 3rd, Billingsley will be hosting a Independence Day celebration with BBQ available for purchase and fireworks to follow! Concessions will be sold by the youth baseball and softball leagues and other fun festivities to follow. Fireworks start at dusk, and the whole celebration will take place from 5-10 p.m. at Billingsley Community Park. 

Autaugaville

Autaugaville Fireworks Show will be hosted by Eleven86 Water and the Mayor’s Office on July 4th in the Town Park. The event starts at 8:30 p.m. and is free to all ages.
