MONTGOMERY POST – A multi-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 1:25 p.m. Friday, June 7, has claimed the life of a Tennessee juvenile. The 13-year-old was critically injured when the 2016 Toyota Rav4 the teen was a passenger in collided head-on with the 2016 Infiniti Q50 driven by Evann A. Jones, 39, of Augusta, Ga. The Toyota was driven by Ashley B. Moore, 26, of La Follette, Tenn. After the initial collision, the Infiniti was then struck by the 2008 Cadillac DTS driven by Dennis F. Wells, 76, of Athens. After being struck by the Cadillac, the Infiniti then struck the 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup driven by Ramiro B. Garcia, 54, of Ardian, Mich.
The 13-year-old was transported to a local hospital where the teen succumbed to injuries and was pronounced deceased. A 14-year-old juvenile, who was also a passenger in the 2016 Toyota Rav4 was injured and transported to a local area hospital for treatment. Ashley B. Moore was also injured and transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment. Evann A. Jones was injured and was also transported to Baptist Medical Center South for treatment.
The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 189-mile marker, approximately eight miles north of Prattville, in Autauga County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
