Women In Touch, Inc. (WIT) Announces Its 2024 Scholarship Recipients

MONTGOMERY – As one of our annual traditions, Women In Touch, Inc. had the pleasure of awarding six $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and college students. The scholarship award is based on financial need, community service, extracurricular activities, grade point average and a personal interview. A list of the six recipients and the college or university they will attend is below:
From our area, Morgan Sims of Wetumpka High School Will attend Lagrange College.
Other recipients include:
Bryce Brown who will attend Tuskegee University
Keauna Hooks who will attend University of Alabama at Birmingham
Jaylin Jones who will attend Troy University
Additionally, Christy Daniel, a student at Tuskegee University, is the recipient of the “Women In Touch Legacy Scholarship.” This $1,000 per year scholarship is renewable for four years. In Christy’s case, this is her third year receiving a $1,000 scholarship from WIT.
Tenisha Douglas, a student at Trenholm State Community College, is the recipient of the Jacqulyn Bibb Memorial Culinary Arts Scholarship. Tenisha is the third recipient of this award.
This scholarship is awarded each year to a student enrolled in Culinary Arts.
The mission of the Women In Touch Scholarship program is to provide critical financial assistance that will increase graduation rates in post-secondary education. Scholarship awards are intended to provide assistance with tuition, room and board, books and other education fees associated with college enrollment. Generally, WIT awards two $1,000 scholarships per year – one to a graduating high school senior and one to a college student. However, with the generous support of businesses, individuals and other donors, we have been able to increase over the years from initially awarding just two $1,000 scholarships to this year being able to award six $1,000 scholarships.
