The MAX4Kids 7th Annual Clay Shoot will be held April 17th at the Lower Wetumpka Shotgun Sports Club. All proceeds from the Clay Shoot fundraiser go right back into the community through nine local nonprofit organizations and scholarship opportunities for local River Region graduating high school seniors.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. with the shoot starting at 9 a.m. Registration can be done ahead of time online, which can be found on their website, or in person at the start of the event. Registration to be a shooter or to sponsor the event is available on the MAX4Kids website as well. Guns, shells, safety glasses and ear plugs will be available for rent or purchase on site.

“Each year we have fundraisers throughout the year to raise money that we donate to local organizations. We’ve got people coming from all over the state and some even out of state participating in the clay shoot. We’re really excited about it, this and our golf tournament are our largest fundraisers,” Director of Communications and Brand Management for Max Credit Union, Carrie Rauch said.

MAX4Kids Foundation was created in 2001 by a group of associates working within MAX Credit Union. The associates saw the need and gaps within the community where direct and partner donations could make a difference.

“It was a group of employees that came together and realized that there was a need for organizations, especially those that don’t get some of those larger funding opportunities. They recognized that need for them and to be able to help them make an impact. It’s wonderful to be able to make that impact in the communities that we serve and truly help those in need,” Rauch said.

Since 2001, the Foundation has put back more than $1.5 Million to local children’s charities and into the MAX4Kids Scholarship Program through the annual fundraisers and employee donations.

MAX employees even donate regularly with either payroll deductions each month, or in other ways when they can, Rauch confirmed. Last year, the Clay Shoot fundraiser raised over $10,000 alone.

“It’s all about community and it’s all about the kids,” Rauch said.
