Royalty, Beads, Floats and Food! Wetumpka’s Mardi Gras Celebration fills Downtown with Color

The Order of Cimarron outdid itself this year, with so many fun things to do in downtown Wetumpka to celebrate Mardi Gras. King Lachlan XI (Ken Rouse) and Queen Sehoy XI (Lee Ann Rouse) oversaw the festivities and received their due respect.

There was so much food, and other vendors in the park. Thousands lined up on the streets to catch some beads and other goodies. The EAN’s own Amanda Pevey was there to catch these photos. We so appreciate everyone who planned this great event, and the ones who kept everyone safe. Thank you for the hard work that wrapped up a beautiful last Mardi Gras parade for this season in our immediate area. We can only imagine the creativity being planned for next year!
