MONTGOMERY POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, has claimed the life of a Clanton man. Jimmie W. Cleckler, 63, was critically injured when the 2016 Ford F-150 pickup he was driving left the roadway and struck a large mound of dirt. Cleckler was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Clanton, where he was later pronounced deceased. The crash occurred on U.S. 31 near the 213-mile marker, approximately three miles south of Clanton, in Chilton County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
