Elmore County Public Schools: Thanksgiving Break Begins Monday; Reminder to Review Progress Reports

FROM RICHARD DENNIS

SUPERINTENDENT OF ELMORE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Fall is slipping away quickly, and we are already celebrating the Thanksgiving Holiday next week.  All Elmore County Public Schools will be closed for the entire week. Take time with your family and friends and remember those that are important in your life.

Second-quarter progress reports for your child were sent home last week. I urge you to take a moment to review your child’s current grades closely. If you have any questions or concerns about their grades, please don’t hesitate to reach out to their respective teachers.

Remember, it’s essential not to wait until it’s too late to address any concerns. Your child’s success is important to us, and we are here to support you in any way we can.

Also, a friendly reminder that you can access your child’s grades at any time through PowerSchool. If you need more information or have any questions, please feel free to contact your child’s school.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education.

On November 7th, high school cheerleaders from Holtville High School, Stanhope Elmore High School, and Elmore County High School gathered in Mobile, Alabama, for the AHSAA Regional Competition. These spirited squads left an indelible mark on the event, showcasing their dedication and talent.

At the competition, Holtville High School’s cheerleading squad secured second place in the fiercely competitive 5A Game Day category and earned a bid to state. Stanhope Elmore High School and Elmore County High School also celebrated their successes as they both received bids to the state championships. All three squads will compete in the state competition on December 11th & 12th in Birmingham.

Wetumpka High School cheerleaders have earned a spot at the NHSCC Cheerleading National Championship in Orlando, FL after impressing everyone at the UCA Regional Competition in Birmingham, AL. We’re incredibly proud of their dedication and skills.

Best of luck to all of our cheer squads!

If you would like to receive my call outs and other system-wide communications texted through Remind, visit the Elmore County Public Schools website and follow the registration process.

Have a great afternoon and next week enjoy the Thanksgiving Holiday!
