Mother/Daughter to Serve as Grand Marshals for Prattville Christmas Parade

FROM KELLIE COOK

PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR FOR PRATTVILLE ALABAMA

Prattville’s annual Christmas parade is Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. and is set to witness the inspiring presence of two remarkable individuals. Jennifer and Libby Barrett have been selected as co-grand marshals for the 2023 Christmas in Prattville Parade.

Jennifer, chosen for her selfless act of donating a kidney to 15-year-old Marion Lewis earlier this year, continues to be an emblem of kindness and compassion in the community. Her extraordinary commitment to the well-being of others has not only saved a life but has also inspired many to believe in the power of altruism and empathy.

In conjunction with Jennifer, the announcement of Libby Barrett as a co-grand marshal comes as a celebration of her own acts of generosity and kindness. Despite her young age, Libby has already demonstrated a profound understanding of the impact of giving on both the giver and the recipient. Libby used all her birthday money this year to help students in the special education program.

With their shared values of compassion and generosity, Jennifer and Libby Barrett symbolize the spirit of goodwill and unity that embodies the true essence of the holiday season.
