On May 22 2023, Maria Juanita Emfinger, 22, was in Autauga County Circuit Court in reference to an unrelated case, when she refused the judge’s order to submit to a drug test. Emfinger admitted to using narcotics recently and admitted to being several months pregnant.
Maria was ordered to be placed in the Metro Jail where she finally submitted to a drug urinalysis test. Emfinger tested positive for multiple controlled substances and was charged with Chemical Endangerment of a Child. This investigation is still ongoing.
Jail information shows she was booked on Oct. 2, and released the same day on a $2,500 bond.
No further information is available at this time, as the case is still under investigation.
