PCA Volleyball Wins Regular Season Area Championship

The Prattville Christian Academy Panthers’ volleyball team has finished the regular season unbeaten in area play, defeating Beulah, Dadeville, and Alabama Christian Academy to claim the regular season area championship. The Panthers will host the Area Tournament October 19.

PCA’s final area matchup was a contest against Alabama Christian Academy, which the Panthers won 3-1 (25-12, 16-25, 25-12, and 25-19).

Emma Cate Carter had 10 kills, 2 aces, 1 block, and 6 digs.

Baylee Rogers had 28 assists, 3 kills, 9 digs, and 1 ace.

Kyra Sims had 8 kills, 4 digs, and 3 blocks.

Leah Cate Wilson had 6 kills and 2 blocks.

Natalee Wheeler had 15 digs and 1 assist.

Jenna McClendon had 4 kills, 5 blocks, and 1 dig.

Paysley Bayer had 2 kills and 2 digs.

Morgan Fowler had 3 aces and 5 digs.

Baileigh Seale had 1 kill, 3 aces, and 4 digs.

Brylee Byrd had 7 aces and 6 digs.

Aiden Williams had 4 digs.

PCA Head Coach Kaylon Cantrell is proud of the team’s accomplishments during the regular season and is excited about the Panthers’ prospects of making a run in the post-season again as they seek to defend the Class 3A championship.

“I’m really proud of our girls for finishing area play undefeated. We’ve had to do a good bit of adjusting throughout this season to figure out what works best for our team, but the girls are buying in and continuing to improve. Their hard work is paying off, and we are excited for the rest of the season.”

The Panthers are 21-9 on the season and will travel to Danville High School for their Tournament of Champions.
