The Prattville Lions Flag Football team hosted the Park Crossing Thunderbirds at Stanley Jensen Stadium on Wednesday night in an area matchup. Starting quarterback Kaytie Chandler was held out of the game due to a minor injury, but the Lions’ offense was still too much for Park Crossing, who was playing the school’s first-ever flag football game. The Lions coasted for a 50-6 win.

Prattville scored every time they had the ball on offense, other than at the end of the first half when the clock ran out. Quarterback Hartley Mccay started strong, finding senior Kaylee Robles for touchdown passes and the first two scores of the game.

Park Crossing managed to get on the board just before the end of the 1st quarter, to cut the score to 12-6. It was the closest the Thunderbirds would be for the remainder of the game.

Mccay found Laniya Page for a touchdown early in the 2nd quarter, and Cadence Forrester added a rushing touchdown, and the Lions went into the break leading 24-6.

Emma Moore scored a 42-yard rushing touchdown rush early in the 3rd, and Mady Cate Lindsey had an interception return for a touchdown to push the lead to 38-6.

Brooklyn Johnson and Hayley Coleman both had a touchdown reception in the 4th quarter to complete the scoring.

Coach Brian Pittman was proud of the Lions’ effort. “The team came out and executed very well. Got a chance to play a lot of girls tonight, but we will have a tough game tomorrow versus Valley.”

For the night, Mccay was 7-12 passing for 105 yards and 5 touchdowns. She also rushed for one touchdown.

On defense, Hayley Coleman, Emma Kate Gunn, and Mady Cate Lindsey each had an interception. Anna Bone had 2 sacks, and Gabbie Hoyle, Eriana Benson, and Calvari Brown each had one sack.

The Lions move to 5-2 on the year, and 2-0 in area play. The Lions play at Valley on Thursday.
