On Saturday, the Alabama Nature Center in Millbrook hosted their annual Honey Festival.

Over 300 people attended this amazing event that was all about sweet honey. There were kid’s activities, presentations, live music, food and much more.

Local honey, Lanark plant sale and a variety of vendors were on site with merchandise for sale.

P’zazz art Studio was on site with painting activities for all the children to enjoy.

During the festival, backyard flowers presentation was presented by Claude Jenkins in the theatre room.

Live honeybee talk and a honey demonstration with Kristen McCord was also presented.

There was a live performance by the Lacy Lynn Band.

Matt Vines, ANC Camps and Coordinator Director said, “The ANC Honey Festival is a great community event that highlights not only the importance of Honey bees and their roll in pollination but the importance of other native bees and pollinators in Alabama. It also provides an opportunity for families to get outdoors together. We had a wonderful group of vendors this year including chicken and sweets, mid-south bee supply, Darla Teasling, perfectly posh, Mimi’s designs, bottle tree Bob, and hickory meadows. A special thank you to P’zazz Art Studio who set up some painting activities for the kids to enjoy. I also want to thank all of our staff and volunteers for coming and helping make this event a success.”
