Military Appreciation Day at Montgomery Zoo moved to June16 due to Weather


Montgomery, AL – The Military Appreciation Day event at Montgomery Zoo has been rescheduled for a second time due to the severity of Wednesday and Thursday storms in Montgomery. We hope you can make it to the rescheduled event on Friday. It’s an annual tradition at the Montgomery Zoo: Military Appreciation Day, where more than 2,000 active and retired service members and their families spend a day together hosted by The Zoo. This year’s Military Appreciation Day is now June 16.
Please join us at noon on June 16th as we thank our military families for their service and for all they give back to the River Region.

    This year’s celebration is especially significant, as this is the year that The Montgomery River Region, home to
    Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base was named as one of five Great American Defense Communities in the
    United States. The Association of Defense Communities (ADC) announced the five selected communities at
    its National Summit earlier this year.
