Shemai’ya Peak of Millbrook Honored among The University of Alabama Outstanding Students

TUSCALOOSA, AL (05/01/2023)– The University of Alabama honored the achievement of numerous students, faculty and staff during the annual Tapping on the Mound ceremony April 7.

The following students were recognized during the ceremony.

Outstanding Freshmen: Shemai’ya Peak and Luke Turner.

Outstanding Sophomore: Kenneth Kelly II.

Outstanding Junior: Abilene Morthland.

Outstanding Seniors: Marcella Martinez and Kaila Pouncy.

Outstanding Transfer Students: Maddy Devin and Maria Peterson.

Outstanding Graduate Students: Alexandra Avera and Dr. A. Jackson Harris.

The Tapping on the Mound ceremony has been a UA tradition since the early 1900s.
