Free Electric Vehicle showcase scheduled for Saturday in Prattville

Elmore/Autauga News

PRATTVILLE, Ala. – Did you know that a majority of Alabamians have never driven an electric vehicle?

That lack of familiarity means they trust EV owners to tell the truth about EVs, including how far they can go on a single charge, how much money they save on fuel and maintenance costs, and other benefits of the driving electric.

EV owners will be at the Central Alabama Electric Cooperative in Prattville on Saturday for the Montgomery Area Drive Electric Alabama Earth Day EVent. EV owners affiliated with the Montgomery Area Drive Electric Alabama EV chapter will display their vehicles from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will be on hand to answer questions about range, cost, maintenance, performance and other EV-related topics.

“There’s no better way to get honest answers to your EV questions than by talking 1-on-1 with EV owners,” said Michael Staley, president of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, which helped coordinate Saturday’s EVent. “If you’re thinking about going electric with your next vehicle purchase, make plans to be there Saturday and kick the tires on some EVs.”
