Thomas Ledwell, of Millbrook, has earned the Boy Scouts of America’s highest advancement award, the Eagle Scout Award. Ledwell will be recognized in a ceremony on April 16, 2023.

A member of Troop 191, Ledwell is one of only approximately six percent of all Boy Scouts who attain the Eagle rank, according to Scoutmaster T.J. Norris.

Each candidate must earn 21 merit badges and successfully complete a community or church-related service project to earn his Eagle. Ledwell chose to place two Little Free Libraries in Millbrook, one at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church and one at the Welcome Center.

“Providing children access to books is important to me. I was inspired to do this project by my kindergarten teacher, Mr. Hodum,” said Ledwell.

Ledwell will attend Faulkner University in the fall where he will be on the Faulkner eSports team.  He is the son of Eric and Sandy Ledwell.

Free Little Libraries are just that…..FREE. If you have a book leave one for someone else. If you need a book, please take one.

Thank you, Thomas, for caring about your community. Good luck at Faulkner!
