WETUMPKA – In January of this year, law enforcement and paramedics were dispatched to the Little Bit of Texas bar in Wetumpka in reference to an injured man, unresponsive on the ground.

The man, later identified as Chris Teeter, died of blunt force trauma to his head, according to a recently released autopsy report.

No suspects have been publicly identified or arrested to date, but we do know multiple people were questioned.

District Attorney CJ Robinson said, “I have met with Wetumpka Police Department and discussed the autopsy results and reviewed a video. The case will be presented in its entirety to the next available Elmore County grand jury. That jury will have the ability to consider all applicable charges on all parties involved.”

Teeter, 50, had left the bar after midnight on the day of the altercation. While outside, Teeter got into his vehicle and was leaving when there was an altercation, but details have not been officially released from investigators.

What is known is that emergency calls were made for medical help, as Teeter was unresponsive on the ground.

Several people were questioned, according to Wetumpka Police Chief Benton. Witnesses reported that Teeter was in an initial altercation, and was leaving, when there was a second altercation involving several other people.

The Wetumpka Police Department and DA’s office initially said they would wait on the autopsy results to decide the next course  of action. That action is now to put it before an Elmore County Grand Jury at the next possible date.

The club’s owner cooperated with investigators and turned over extensive video footage from 64 security cameras from the night of the altercation. In a social media post from the owner, it said, “The truth shall be forthcoming.”
