Prattville to Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day May 20

FROM THE CITY OF PRATTVILLE

National Kids to Park Day is Saturday, May 20, and the City of Prattville is planning a great fun-filled day to enjoy the outdoors! To kick off the celebration, kids and their families can join Mayor Bill Gillespie, Jr., for the annual Mayor’s Bike Ride at Upper Kingston Park and ride to the Touch A Truck event at Pratt Park.

The bike ride will begin at 9:45 a.m. at Upper Kingston Park for older kids and younger or less experienced riders will join the group by the Prattville Chamber of Commerce and ride to Pratt Park to join the fun at the annual Touch A Truck event. All riders must wear a helmet to participate.

There will be a police escort for the ride. Enjoy the fresh air and exercise as you ride through downtown Prattville to beautiful Pratt Park.

At Pratt Park from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. there will be police cars, firetrucks, ambulances, bucket trucks, dump trucks, and a lot of fun vehicles and equipment for children to climb on, climb in, and explore. There will be children’s activities, photo opportunities, and food vendors, too. Children can learn about the different vehicles the City departments use to protect, connect and make life easier for all of us.
