A 17-year-old female is in custody after a shooting on Sixth Street near downtown this morning around 10 a.m.
The victim, also a juvenile, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, according to Prattville Police Chief Mark Thompson. The victim was taken to Prattville Baptist Hospital, but his injury does not appear to be life threatening, according to Thompson.
“This remains under investigation, and we have several witnesses we are talking to,” Thompson said. “But we believe this is an ongoing dispute between several parties. As we continue the investigation, we will determine exact charges.”
