Free Legal Clinic for Autauga County Families Affected by the January Tornado

From The Office of Probate Judge Kim Kervin

Autauga County Commissioner Chair Jay Thompson, Probate Judge Kim Kervin, and Autauga County Bar President Kyle Shirley met last week to discuss ways the legal community could better assist Autauga county families affected by the January 12, 2023 tornado.

Judge Kervin reported that the Alabama Probate Judges Association graciously donated $500.00 to cover the filing fees for the estates filed on anyone who lost their life in the storm. Lee County Probate Judge Bill English, whose county benefited from a similar donation, made the motion for the organization.

Thank you to the APJA for this donation to Autauga county families.

Clyde Chambliss worked with the Alabama Association for Justice to secure free legal assistance for families needing assistance completing fema paperwork and filing insurance claims.

A free legal clinic will offered to assist families affected by the January 12, 2023 tornado. Attorneys will be available to answer questions relative to filing estate matters, insurance claims, and the assistance in completing FEMA paperwork.
