Smokey is a 5-year-old female Bluetick Coonhound who has already been spayed. She came to PAHS as an owner surrender because her owner could no longer take care of her. Smokey is a very pretty girl who has the classic mottled black and white markings of a pure bred Bluetick Hound; with tan markings on her face and legs.
She currently weighs 71 pounds so she is considered to be a large dog. Smokey is sleekly beautiful and quite a sweet and affectionate girl. She is good with other dogs and good-natured and calm with children. Smokey is well behaved, leash trained, and house trained. Since she is a coonhound; and coonhounds are known to be active, she would enjoy life best with a family who is active and would provide her with plenty of exercise. After a nice romp Smokey is perfectly happy to enjoy a snooze in the shade. She is quite the droopy eared charmer and will make a wonderful new family member for some lucky adopter. ***Her previous owner said if you take her outside of her fenced yard be sure to have Smokey on a leash as she has been known to take off to parts unknown when outside her fenced area and not leashed.
Dog/puppy adoption fees are $75 and cat/kitten adoption fees are $35 (as long as funds are available). Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.

PAHS Pet Palooza event is Saturday, Oct. 15th, from 10-2 at Cooters Pond Park. We will have vendors, adoptable dogs, children’s games, grilled concessions, an awesome raffle, bake sale, pet accessories for sale, and much more. Please come out and join the fun.
