Week 5 saw an abundance of excitement in all our area games. XMAN Performance and Development Founder and Director Oscar Berry, III, invited EAN to the โBattle of the Golden Cleatsโ where the Autaugaville vs Billingsley game was highlighted.
The โGolden Cleatsโ saga was created in 2018 to highlight the longstanding rivalry between Autaugaville and Billingsley football teams. The metallic gold pair of Nike Cleats atop the โGolden Cleatsโ trophy were worn in a 6A Championship Football game by a high school student whose family traces its roots to both the communities of Autaugaville. โThey represent the XMAN commitment to support and reward excellence and achievement in rural communitiesโ Berry said. At the half, Billingsley led Autaugaville 6-3, and then Autaugaville responded with a 46-0 run in the 2nd half.ย
