Week 4 of Local High School Athletics

Week 4 of local sports saw some great wins and disappointing losses in both volleyball and football. A huge sweep of inclement weather across the state caused football teams to move games from their regularly scheduled Friday nights to Thursday night; 100 games across the state were played on Thursday, September 8 while 101 games were played on Friday, September 9. Teams that sent in information were awarded “Players of the Game.” 

Football Updates:

Thursday, September 8:

Autaugaville vs Calhoun, Autaugaville winning 36-0

Billingsley vs Verbena, Billingsley losing 54-14. Player of the game is Randriquis McCary who rushed 9 times for 95 yards and also had 12 tackles on defense.

Marbury vs Demopolis, Marbury losing 54-0

Prattville vs Dothan, Prattville losing 14-10

Prattville Christian Academy had a bye week

Stanhope Elmore High had a bye week

Holtville vs Selma, Holtville losing 18-7

Elmore County vs Central School of Clay County, ECHS losing 49-21

Tallassee vs Beauregard, Tallassee losing 14-6

Friday, September 9:

Wetumpka vs Park Crossing, Wetumpka winning 27-8

Edgewood vs Abbeville Christian, Edgewood winning 40-0

Autauga Academy vs Fort Dale Academy, AA winning 35-10

Tuesday, September 6:

Autaugaville hosted Calhoun, losing matches 0-3

Billingsley hosted Chilton County, JV losing matches 0-2 and Varsity losing matches 0-3

Prattville hosted Dothan, JV losing matches 0-2 and Varsity losing matches 0-3

Tallassee hosted Benjamin Russell, JV losing matches 0-2 and Varsity losing matches 1-3

Wednesday, September 7:

Wetumpka played at Park Crossing, JV winning matches 2-0 and Varsity winning matches 3-0

Thursday, September 8:

Autaugaville played at Maplesville, losing matches 0-3

Marbury hosted Elmore County High, with ECHS JV winning matches 2-0 and ECHS Varsity winning matches 3-0

Prattville hosted Enterprise,  JV losing matches 0-2 and Varsity losing matches 0-3

Prattville Christian hosted Beulah, JV winning matches 2-0 and Varsity winning matches 3-0

Wetumpka hosted Carver, JV winning matches 2-0 and Varsity winning matches 3-0

September 16:

Autaugaville (3-1) will host Billingsley

Billingsley (1-2) will play at Autaugaville

Marbury (1-3) will play at Tallassee

Prattville (1-2) will host Opelika

PCA (1-2) will host Greensboro

SEHS (1-2) will host Carver

Wetumpka (3-1) will play at Russell County

ECHS (3-1) will have a bye week

Holtville (2-2) will have a bye week

Tallassee (2-2) will host Marbury

Autauga Academy (3-0) will host Valiant Cross Academy
