The Tallassee City Council met Friday and voted to appoint Sarah Hill as the new Mayor serving out the term of the previous mayor until 2025. Hill formerly held the Ward Two City Council position. Elmore Autauga News plans to meet with the new mayor next week for a more in-depth article as she tackles the task of moving the city forward.
The EAN would like to wish Mayor Hill the best of luck, and we look forward to covering the news of the Tallassee council. (The bad news comes uninvited, as we know all too well. But we have to cover that as well.)
As one of his last acts as Mayor, now former Mayor Johnny Hammock held a meeting Friday as well. We will have a story on that to come, but in the meeting Hammock referred to some of his experiences as Mayor and working with the Council as a “Dumpster Fire.” The question is, who lit the match? Stay tuned.
