There had been two common themes last week in Millbrook. The first is that it had been hot, and the second was that there were some strong thunderstorms that popped up here and there.

Despite the not-so-kind weather, residents in the City of Millbrook came out in large numbers to attend Tunes on the Green at Village Green Park.

The main attraction of Thursday’s event was Brandon Elder, a talented singer who is from Millbrook and made an impressive run on the hit talent show American Idol.

In addition to the music, there were a few other attractions around the park for spectators to enjoy. The Kid’s Fun Zone was set up with toys and games for the children to play, Zeke’s BBQ had a food truck set up near the stage, and Tee’s Treats returned after having a successful day at the Farmer’s Market on Tuesday. There was even a homemade ice cream contest that took place before the event as well.

With a variety of things to do, Tunes on the Green has become a popular event for the residents of the city.

The next two events will take place on July 7th and July 21st from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and it is free to attend, so if you have time be sure to come check out what the city has to offer!
