Summer’s a Smash at the Prattville Library

By Hamilton Richardson

Friday was a great, but hot, day for the Autauga Prattville Public Library as it celebrated the beginning of its Summer Library Club program with hot dogs, games, a fire truck, a bubble machine and face painting.

There was also a silent auction and other various events going on to get the word out about the library’s summer plans.

Some of the classes offered during the Summer Library Club program will be a Tween Crafternoon, where there will be crafts and book discussions, a Stem Challenge involving a chance to explore the ocean and a Detective Camp.

Also, for younger kids, there will be Terrific Tuesdays with science and magic, Toddler Time, Storytime and Free Play Friday.

The Summer Library Club program will run from June 13 to July 19 with prizes awarded every week.

For more information on the program or the Autauga Prattville Public Library, call 334-365-3396 or go online to www.appl.info.
