FROM THE HOLTVILLE HIGH SCHOOL NEWS TEAM

On April 28, Holtville High had their annual Military Enlistment Day and recognized Seniors going into the military once they graduate from Holtville on May 20.

The school was invited to observe as 13 students signed with various branches of the military. The assembly began with the Holtville High Band and the Holtville JROTC presenting the colors while Major Joey Hutto led the ceremony.

Principal Kyle Futral said “We have this ceremony each year to recognize the admirable decision that some of our young men and women have made to serve our country in the U.S. Military, and to get our younger students thinking about how they might serve. We believe it is extremely important to honor their sacrifice. Each student was recognized by their individual branches while receiving accommodations from the military and Holtville High.”

Seth Stevens – United States Air Force

Phil Frasier – United States Navy

Aubrey Abrams – United States Marines

Boak Sims – United States Coast Guard

Haylie Thomas – United States Coast Guard
