On Thursday, May 12th, the stately home and gardens of Amy and Tom Methvin will once again play host to Montgomery Christian School’s Art Splash. A greatly anticipated event which is now celebrating its 10th year, Art Splash brings the River Region’s most talented artists together, along with corporate and individual sponsors, for a night of fun and celebration of the arts. However, the true magic of Art Splash is that every dollar raised goes to support scholarships for students at Montgomery Christian School.
This year’s fundraiser will again feature an online Virtual Auction that will begin on Thursday evening, May 12th at 6:30 PM and continue until Sunday, May 15th at 9:00 PM. Two separate outdoor events will celebrate the opening of the 2022 Art Splash Virtual Auction.
The Garden Preview event will be held on May 12th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM and is open to the public. This ticketed event is a valuable opportunity for potential bidders to preview the art of our gifted participating artists ahead of the Virtual Auction’s opening.
The Methvin’s magnificent gardens are located at 1919 South Hull Street. Guests can enter the garden through the Rose Lane entrance where they will then be able to preview the art under a tent and tour the manicured gardens at their leisure. Light refreshments will be served and tickets may be purchased for $25 by visiting the Montgomery Christian School website at www.montgomerychristianschool.org.
This year’s Art Splash features the talents of Foad Araiinejad, Camilla Armstrong, Carol Ballard, Carol Barksdale, Steve Barrington, Aimee Bentley, Ed Brummal, Huck Carroll, Warren Christopher, Joanie Conoly, Nan Cunningham, Barbara Davis, Steven Davis, Lauren Foshee, Kevin King, Alisa Koch, Francie McCullers, Jeanie McRae, Richard Mills, Jamie Mitchell, Pacrates, Jessica Pittman, Kate Seawell, Walt Spratlan, Joanne Staley, Melissa Tubbs, and Tim Vaught. Additionally, Nadia Choi will be featured as winner of the River Region “Up and Coming Artist” contest. Montgomery Christian School student art will also be available in the Virtual Auction.
On the evening of May 12th beginning at 6:30 PM, the Art Splash sponsors and artists, along with their special guests, will be entertained at the Artist-Sponsor Preview Party. The Preview Party allows the Montgomery Christian School Board of Directors and the Art Splash Committee an opportunity to thank those special patrons who make the Art Splash scholarship fund possible. Guests will be invited to preview the original artwork that will be available for purchase in the Virtual Auction, all while partaking in tasty hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and desserts. This event is open to the public and individual tickets to the event are available at www.montgomerychristianschool.org.

Art Splash 2022 is a celebration of 10 years of the annual fundraiser and 14 years of Montgomery Christian School providing a superior education experience for children in our city. Founded in 2007 with just eight kindergarten students, the school now serves ninety students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Now enjoying its fifth year at its home on McGehee Road, Montgomery Christian School provides strong academic instruction for children in the Montgomery area who have limited educational opportunities.
All proceeds raised by Art Splash will benefit the scholarship fund of Montgomery Christian School. A small portion of tuition is paid by each family and is based on family income, while scholarships cover the remainder of the cost of attendance. Proceeds from Art Splash are combined with donations from individuals, businesses, civic and service clubs, and community grants to finance these life-changing scholarships.
The mission of Montgomery Christian School is to glorify God by providing an academically challenging education in a Christian environment to families with limited school choice. Montgomery Christian School partners with parents to develop academic, social, emotional, and spiritual maturity so that students can effectively pursue God’s purpose in their family, church, community, and personal life.
