Katie Kroft, of Prattville, one of 50 students chosen for new class of Blackburn Institute

TUSCALOOSA, AL – The Blackburn Institute would like to congratulate Katie Kroft, of Prattville, AL, for being selected as one of 50 students chosen for the new Blackburn Class of 2022.

The Blackburn Institute, a civic engagement and leadership organization at The University of Alabama, selects a class of 50 new students each spring. As part of this new class, Katie Kroft will be developed as a leader through the Institute’s new student curriculum.

This curriculum includes travel experiences across the state of Alabama, networking opportunities, professional development and the Institute’s annual symposium. Additionally, students will plan a civic engagement project with their peers and implement it as a cohort.

The Blackburn Institute has a mission to develop a diverse network of leaders. In doing so, the Institute has four overarching values: facilitating diversity of opinion, developing a call to action, networking through the generations and instilling a lifetime commitment.

The Institute congratulates Katie Kroft once again for exhibiting these values, and welcomes them to a lifetime commitment of leadership, service, and answering their call to action!
