Suspect now in custody after Shooting in Prattville April 16; Jim Curry Charged with Attempted Murder

A Montgomery man identified as Jim Darnell Curry is in custody, with the help of the US Marshall’s fugitive Task Force and charged with attempted murder for a shooting in Prattville April 16.

On April 16th, 2022 Prattville Police Department responded to the 700 block of East Main St. in reference to shots fired call. Upon arrival, Investigators learned that Jim Darnell Curry fired four shots from a 9mm handgun at his wife while in the parking lot. Curry’s wife was not struck. Witnesses said Curry was last seen fleeing the area in a newer model blue Chevy Malibu. A warrant for Attempted Murder was issued fr the arrest of Jim Darnell Curry.   

On April 20th, 2022 the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force apprehended Jim Darnell Curry at an undisclosed location in Montgomery, AL. Curry was arrested on the warrant for Att. Murder and placed in the Autauga County Metro Jail on a $150,000.00 Cash Only bond.

This case is still under further investigation by the Prattville Police Department.
