Join the DAC Foundation on Alabama’s Gulf Coast

Please join us on April 22–24, 2022, for an art-filled weekend on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. In partnership with the Dauphin Island Heritage & Arts Council and the Dauphin Island Gallery, LLC, the DAC Foundation will present an exhibition about the Dixie Art Colony spinoff known as “THE BAYOU PAINTERS” at 918 Bienville Boulevard, Dauphin Island, AL.

This event will take place in conjunction with the Dauphin Island PLEIN AIR PAINT-OUT. A total of 40 artists from across the South will gather at Dauphin Island, Bayou La Batre, and Coden to paint the great outdoors just as “The Bayou Painters” did from 1946 through 1953. Mark Harris, founder and director of the DAC Foundation will be the juror for the competition.

In addition to the exhibition, a discussion and slide presentation will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022. The presentation is free of charge and open to the public, but limited to 25 attendees. To “SECURE YOUR PLACE”, send a text to 251-610-6984 (text preferred, please), or send an email to classes.dauphinislandarts@gmail.com. A “Wet-Paint Sale” will be held on April 23 and April 24, 2022, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
