The 5th annual Easter Eggstravaganza took place at Lanark in Millbrook, Alabama on Saturday, April 2nd, presented by the Alabama Nature Center and the Realty Connection. There were games, easter egg hunts for three different age groups, photos and lots of food.

A total of 11 area businesses/agencies sponsored the Easter event. The sponsors included Realty Connection, HessHome Inspections, The Mitchell Agency, Trustmark, Butterfly Bridge, Allstate, State Farm, Non-Stop Towing, Keepin’ it Clean, Piggly Wiggly in Pine Level and Autauga County Family Support Center.

Over 300 people attended this fun Easter event. Over 2,500 eggs were hidden on the property for three age groups. There were also golden eggs per age group. If a child was able to find the golden egg, an Easter basket of goodies was given to the child and a basket of goodies for the parents, too. The movie Zootopia, was playing at the NaturePlex for families to enjoy. If you wanted a picture taken with a real bunny, Barry Chrietzberg Photography was taking pictures for families.

Matt Vines, who is the Camps and Community Programs Coordinator, teamed up with Robin Davies, owner of Realty Connection, to make this event amazing.

“I want to thank all the sponsors; the volunteers and staff members who came out to help with this event. I enjoyed seeing families come out to enjoy the nature, to have fun, and spending time with one another. The weather was perfect, too,” said Vines.

Robin Davies is the Broker and owner of Realty Connection. She has been a realtor since 2006 and opened Realty Connection in 2011. Vines and Davies teamed up five years ago and it has gone so well they continue to do it every year including the Halloween Carnival event that takes place in October.

This Easter event has been the first event for Realty Connection since COVID-19 hit two years ago. “I’m really excited to get our events back again. I love to show our appreciation to our community. I had 10 people from Realty Connection to come and help out with the event. We all had a great time watching kids hunt the eggs, and we enjoyed making the baskets for the golden prize winners as well,” said Davies.

Realty Connection’s next big event is in October for the Halloween Carnival at Lanark in Millbrook, Alabama and they will have a booth set up for City Fest in Prattville on May 14th.

April 23rd the Earth Day Festival is an inaugural event for the Alabama Nature Center. There will be presentations, vendors, food, live animals, kid activities, and a clean up the creek walk (bring water shoes) during the event. General admission applies for this event. They are also still accepting vendors.
